374) Soloman made a marriage alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt. He took Pharaoh’s daughter and brought he into the city of David (1 Kings 3:1a ESV)

376) Solomon loved the Lord,walking in the statutes of David his father, (1 Kings 3:3a ESV)
377) …only he sacrificed and made offerings at the high places. (1 kings 3:3b ESV)
378) …Then he came to Jerusalem and stood before the ark of the covenantof the Lord,

379) …and offered up burnt offerings and peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants. (1 Kings 3:15b ESV)
380) Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was in command of the army; Zadok and Abiathar were priests. (1 Kings 4:4 ESV)

385) He paneled walls and ceilings with cedar, and he used planks of cypress for the floors.

399) And this is the account of the forced labor that King Solomon drafted to build the house of the Lord and his own house…(1 Kings 9:15a ESV)
400) …so Solomon rebuilt Gezer and Lower Beth-horon and Baalath and Tamar in the wilderness in the land of Judah. (1 Kings 9:17,18 ESV)
401) And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, the food of his table the seating of his servants, their clothing, his cupbearers, andhis burnt offering that he offeredat the house of the Lord, there was no more spirit in her. (1 Kings 10:4 ESV)
402) And King Soloman gave to the queen of Sheba all that she desired, (1 Kings 10:13a ESV)

406) Now King Solomon loved many foreign women, along with the daughter of Pharaoh:…

407) For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father. (1 Kings 11:4 ESV)
408) Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, and for Molech the abomination of the Ammorites,on the mountain east of Jerusalem. (Away from Jerusalem)(1 Kings 11:7 ESV)
409) ButI will take the kingdom out of his sons hand and I will give it to you, ten tribes.

411) Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. But Jeroboam arose and fled into Egypt…

414) So Israel went to their tents.But Rehoboam reigned over the people of Israel who lived in the cities of Judah. (1 kings 12:16a, 17 ESV)
415) Then King Rehoboam sent Adoram,, who was taskmaster over the force labor, andall Israel stoned him with stones. And Rehoboam hurried to mount his chariot to flee to Jerusalem. So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.

416) When Rehoboam came to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah and the tribe of Benjamin, 180,000 chosen warriors, … (1 Kings 12:21a ESV)
417) …to fight against the house of Israel, to restore the kingdom to Rehoboam the son of Solomon. (1 Kings 12:21b ESV)
418) He also made temples on high places and appointed priests who were not of the Levites. (1 Kings 12:31 ESV)
419) And Jeroboam appointed a feast on the fifteenth day of the eighth month like the feast that was in Judah (1 Kings 12:32a ESV)
420) …andhe offered sacrifices on the alter. So he did in Bethel, sacrificing the (golden) calves that he had made. (1 Kings 12:32b ESV)
421) He went up to the alter that he had made in Bethel on the fifteenth day in the eighth month, in the month that he had devised in his own heart. And he instituted a feast for the people of Israel (1 Kings 12:33a ESV)
422) …andwent up to the alterto make offerings. (1 Kings 12:33b ESV)
423) …and he shall sacrifice on you the priestsof the high places who make offerings on you, andhuman bones shall be burned on you. (1 Kings 13:2b ESV)
424) Any who would,he ordained to be priests of the high places. And this thing became sin to the house of Jeroboam, so as to cut it off and to destroy it from the face of the earth. (1 kings 13:33b,34 ESV)
425) …therefore behold, I will bring harm upon the house of Jeroboam and will cut off from Jeroboam every male, both bond and free in Israel, (1 Kings 14:10a ESV)
426) …and will burn up the house of Jeroboam, as a man burns up dung until it is all gone. (1 Kings 14:10b ESV)
427) Anyone belonging to Jeroboam,who dies in the city the dogs shall eat, and any who dies in the open country the birds if the heavens shall eat, for the Lord has spoken it. (1 Kings 14:11 ESV)
428) …the Lord will strike Israel as a reedis shaken in the water, and root up Israel out of this good landthat he gave to their fathers and scatter them beyond the Euphrates, because theyhave made their Ashram, provoking the Lord to anger. (1 Kings 14:15 ESV)
429) For they built also built for themselves high places and pillars and Ashram on every high hill andunder every tree tree. (1 Kings14:23a ESV)
430) For they also built for themselves high places and pillarsand Ashram….and there were also male cult prostitutes in the land. (1 Kings 14:23, 24a ESV)
431) He took away thetreasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the kings house. (1 Kings 14:26a ESV)
432) And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually. (1 Kings 14:30 ESV)
433) And there was war between Abidjan and Jeroboam. (1 Kings 15:7b ESV)
434) And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days. (1 Kings 15:16 ESV)
435)Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah and built Ramah, that he might permit no one to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah. (1 Kings 15:17 ESV)
436) And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days. (1 Kings 15:32 ESV)
437) Anyone belonging to Baasha who dies in the city thedogs shall eat, and anyone of his who dies in the field, the birds of the heavens shall eat. (1 Kings 16;4 ESV)
438) Zimri came in and stuck him down and killed him, .… (1 Kings 16:9,10a ESV)
439) And when Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the citadel of the king’s house and burned the king’s house over him with fireand died, (1 Kings 16:18 ESV)
440) …because of his sins that he committed,doing evil in the sight of the Lord, (1 Kings 16:19a ESV)
441) …walking in the way of Jeroboam, and for his sin which he committed, making Israel to sin. (1 Kings 16:19b ESV)
442) Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts.Half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king, and half followed Omri.(1 Kings 16:21 ESV)
443) He bought the hill of Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver, and fortified the hill and called the name of the city Samaria. after the name of Shemer the owner of the hill. (1 Kings 16:24 ESV)
444) He erected an alter for Baal in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria. (1 Kings 16:32 ESV)
445) And she said, “As the Lord your God lives,I have nothing baked, only a handful of flourin a jar and a little oil in a jug. (1 kings 17:12 ESV)
446) For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, “The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day the Lord sees rain upon the earth.” (1 Kings 17:14 ESV)
447) Then he stretched himself upon the child three times and cried to the Lord, “O Lord my God, let this child’s life come into him again. And the Lord listened to the voice of Elijah. (1 Kings 17:21, 22a ESV)
448) So they divided the land between them to pass through it. Ahab went in one direction by himself, and Obadiah went in another direction by himself. (1 Kings 18:6 ESV)
449) So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him.And Ahab went to meet Elijah. (1 Kings 18:16 ESV)
450) And he repaired the alter of the Lord that had been thrown down. …and with the stones he built an alter in the name of the Lord. (1 Kings 18:30b, 32 ESV)
451) Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt offeringandthe wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. (1 Kings 18:38 ESV)
452) And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink, for there is a sound of the rushing of rain,” (1 Kings 18:41 ESV)
453) So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Mount Carmel.

454) And he arose and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mount of God. (1 Kings 19:8 ESV)
455) And he said,“Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord.” And behold the Lord passed by,… (1 Kings 19:11a ESV)
456) And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his facein his cloak and went and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice… (1 Kings 19:13 ESV)
457) And when you arrive, you shall anoint Hazel to be king over Syria.And Jehu the son of Nimshi you shall anoint to be king over Israel… (1 Kings 19:15b, 16a ESV)
458) And the one who escapes from the sword of Hazel shall Jehu put to death, and the one who escapes from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha put to death. (1 Kings 19: 17 ESV)
459) Yet I will leave seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that havenot bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him. (1 Kings 19:18 ESV)
460) Elijah passed him and cast his cloak upon him. (1 Kings 19:19b ESV)
461) And he returned from following him and took the yoke of oxen and sacrificed them

462) …and boiled their flesh with the yokes of the oxen and gave it to the people, and they ate. (1 Kings 19: 21b ESV)
463) Ben-Hadad the king of Syria gathered all his army together,Thirty two kings were with him, and horses and chariots.And he went up and closed in on Samaria and fought against it.(1 Kings 20:1 ESV)
464) And the servants of the king of Syria said to him, “Their gods are gods of the hills. And so they were stronger than we. But let us fight agains them in the plain, and surely we will be stronger than they. (1 Kings 20:23 ESV)
465) The people of Israel encamped before the like two little flocks of goats, but the Syrians filled the country. (1 Kings 20:27b ESV)
466) And Ben-hadad said to him, “The cities that my father took from your father I will restore; and you may establish bazars for yourself in Damascus, as my father did in Samaria.” (1 Kings 20:34 ESV)
467) Anyone belonging to Ahab who dies in the city the dogs shall eat, and anyone who dies in the open country the birds off the heavens shall eat. (1 Kings 21:22 ESV)
468) And the king of Israel said to his servants,“Do you know that Ramoth-gilead belongs to us, and we keep quiet and do not take itout of the hand of the king of Syria. (1 Kings 22:3 ESV)
469) He walked in all the way of Asa his father. He did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight if the Lord. (1 Kings 22:43a ESV)
470) Yet the high places were still not taken away, and the people still sacrificed and made offerings on the high places. (1 kings 22:43b ESV)
471) Then Ahaziah the son of Ahabsaid to Jehoshaphat,“let my servants go with your servants in the ships,” butJehoshaphat was not willing.(1 Kings 22:49 ESV)
472) He went up to Elijah, who was sitting on the top of a hill, and said to him, “O man of God, the king says , ‘come down.’” (2 kings 1:9b ESV)
473) And he answered and said to him,”O man of God, this is the kings order, ‘come down quickly! But Elijah answered, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty,”(2 Kings 1:11b, 12a ESV)
474) He said, “Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it.” So they bought it to him. Then he went to the spring of water and threw salt in it and said, “Thus says the Lord, I have healed this water from now on neither death nor miscarriage shall come from it.” (2 Kings 2:20,21 ESV)
Notice that there were two parts to what Elijah had done. He both spoke and took action. Speaking represented the spiritual leg while throwing salt represented the physical. Both had been necessary. Most of these incidents work that way. The visible action taken represents the physical while speaking represents the spiritual.
475) Now Mesha king of Moab was a sheep breeder, and he had to deliver to the king of Israel (2 Kings 3:4a ESV)
476) 100,000 lambs and the wool of 100,000 rams. (2 Kings 3:4b ESV)
477) Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord, butthe creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves. (2 Kings 4:1b (ESV)
Possible interpretation: Her spiritual covering was now gone and the pull of the world was on her sons??
478) So she went from him and shut the door behind herself and her sons. And as she poured they brought the vessels to her. When the vessels were full, she said to her son, :Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another.” Then the oil stopped flowing. (2 Kings 4:5,6 ESV)
The (physical) oil continued to flow until her (spiritual) expectations had been met, no further.
479) So he went in and shut the door behind the two of them and prayed to the Lord. (2 Kings 4:34 ESV)
480) Then he went up and lay on the child, putting his mouth on his mouth, his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. And as he stretched himself upon him, the flesh of the child became warm. (2 Kings 4:33 ESV)
Elishas very close physical contact represented the very close spiritual contact that was needed in this case.
481) And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go wash in the Jordan seven times and you will be clean”. But Naaman was angry and went away, saying, “Behold, I thought he ` would surely come out to me and stand and call upon the name of the Lord…(2 Kings 5:10b, 11a ESV) Naaman was expecting a physical encounter, but did not recognize that a spiritual encounter was needed.
482) My father, shall I strike them down? Shall I strike them down? (2 Kings 6:21b ESV)
Why would that be asked twice?
483) He answered,“you shall not strike them down. Would you strike down those whom you have taken with your sword and with your bow? (2 Kings 6:22a ESV)
484) Then in haste every man of them took his garment and put it under him on the bare steps, (2 Kings 9:13a ESV)
485) …and they blew the trumpet and proclaimed, “Jehu is king” (2 Kings 9:13b ESV)
486) So Jehu struck down all who remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, all his great men and his close friends and his priests, until he left him none remaining. (2 Kings 10:11 ESV)
487) And he said,”Come with me and see my zeal for the Lord”. (2 Kings10:16 NLT)
488) So he had him ride in his chariot. And when he came to Samaria, he struck down all who remained to Ahab in Samaria, till he had wiped them out, according to the word of the Lord that he spoke to Elijah. (2 Kings 10:16,17 ESV)
489) Now when Ataliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal family. (2 Kings 11:1a ESV)
490) But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Joram, sister of Ahaziah took Joash the son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the king’s sons who were being put to death,

491) …and she put him and his nurse in a bedroom. And he remained with her six years, hidden in the house of the Lord. (2 Kings 11: 2 ESV)
492)Then he brought out the kings’s son and put the crown on him and gave him the testimony. ( 2 Kings 11:12 ESV)
493) And they proclaimed him king and anointed him, andthey clapped their hands and said, “Long live the king!” (2 Kings 11:12b ESV)
494) “Bring her out between the ranks, and put to death with the sword anyone who follow her.” For the priest said, “Let her not be put to death in the house of the Lord.”

495) So they laid hands on her; and she went through the horses’ entrance to the king’s house, and there she was put to death. (2 Kings 11:15b, 16 ESV)
496) And Jehoida made a covenant between the Lord and the king and people, that they should be the Lord’s people, and also between the king and the people. (2 Kings 11:17 ESV)
497) Then all the people of the land went to the house of Baal and tore it down;(2 Kings 11:18 ESV)
498)… and he killed Mattanthe priest of Baal before the alters. And the priest posted watchmenover the house of the Lord.(2 Kings 11:18b ESV)
499) …and they brought the king down from the house of the Lord, marching through the gate of the guards to the kings house. And he took his seaton the throne of the kings.

500) And Jehoash did what was right in the eyes of the Lord all his days, because Jehoida the priest instructed him. Nevertheless, the high places were not taken away; (2 Kings 12:2,3a ESV)
501) …the people continued to sacrifice and make offerings on the high places. (2 Kings 12: 3b ESV)
502) …and the money that a mans heart prompts him to bring into the house of the Lord, Let the priest take, each from his donor, and let them repair the house wherever any need of repairs is discovered. (2 Kings 12:4b, 5 ESV)
503) So the priests agreed that they should take no more money from the people, and that they should not repair the house. (2 Kings 12:8 ESV)
504) And the priests who guarded the threshold put all the money that was brought into the house of the Lord….. And they paid it out to the carpenters and the builders who worked on the house of the Lord,… (2 Kings:12:9b, 11b ESV)
505) But when Hazel set his face to go up against Jerusalem, Jehoash king of Judah took all the sacred gifts….and sent them to Hazel king of Syria. Then Hazel went away from Jerusalem. (2 Kings 12:17b, 18a, 18c ESV)
506) Then Jehoahaz sought the favor of the Lord, and the Lord listened to him, (2 Kings 13:4a ESV)
507) …for he saw the oppression of Israel, how the king of Syria oppressed them. (2 Kings 13:4b ESV)
508) Therefore the Lord gave Israel a savior,so that they escaped from the hand of the Syrians, and the people lived in their homes as formerly. (2 Kings 13:5 ESV)
509) Then Jejoash the son of Jehoahaz took again the cities that he had taken from Jehoahaz his father in war. (2 Kings 13:25 ESV)
510) And Jehoash king of Israel captured Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash, son of Ahaziah at Beth-shemesh, and came to Jerusalem(2 Kings 14:13a ESV)
511) …and broke down the wall of Jerusalem for four hundred cubits, from the Ephraim Gate to the the Corner Gate. And he seized all the gold and silver… (2 kings 14:13b,14a ESV)
512) And the Lord touched the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and he lived in a separate house. And Jotham the king’s son was over the household, governing the people of the land. (2 Kings 15;5 ES)
513) He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin.

514) Shalom the son of Jabesh conspired against him and struck him down at Ibleam (2 Kings 15:10a ESV)

516) Then Menahem the son of Gadi came up from Tirzah and came to Samaria (2 Kings 15:14a ESV)
517) …and put him to death and reigned in his place. (2 kings 15;14b ESV)
518) Menahem exacted the money from Israel,that is, from all the wealthy men, fifty shekels of silver (not gold emphasis added) from every man, to give to the king of Assyria. (2 Kings 15:20a ESV)
519) So the king of Assyria turned back and did not stay there in the land. (2 Kings 15:20b ESV)
520) And Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him with fifty men of the people of Gilead, and struck him down in Samaria, in the citadel of the king’s house with Argob and Aries; (2 Kings 15:25a ESV)
521) …he put him to death and reigned in his place. (2 Kings 15:25b ESV)
522) Then Hosea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah and struck him down(2 Kings 5:30a ESV)
523) …and put him to death and reigned in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah. (2 Kings 15: 30b ESV)
524) And the bronze alter that was before the Lord he removed from the front of the place between his alter and the house of the Lord, and put it on the north side of his alter.

530) They set up for themselves pillars and Ashramon every high hill and underevery green tree, (2 Kings 17: 10 ESV)
531) Again and again the Lord had sent his prophets and seers to warn both Israel and Judah. (2 Kings 17:13a ESV)
532) They went after false idols and became false, and they followed the nations that were around them. (2 Kings 17:15b ESV)
533) And they abandoned all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made for themselves metal images of two calves; (2 Kings 17:16a ESV)
534) …and they made an Ashram and worshiped all the host of heaven and served Baal.

535) So they feared the Lord but also served their own gods, after the manner of the nations from among whom they had been carried away. (2 Kings 17:33 ESV)

602) Surely this came upon Judah at the commend of the Lord, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done, and also for the innocent bloodthat he had shed. (2 Kings 24:3 ESV)
603) The king of Babylon took him prisoner in the eighth year of his reign and carried off
